The group provides education to specialist nurses up to COPD diploma level, and doctors in primary and secondary care. We focus on helping primary and secondary care deliver the latest NICE guidelines and the NICE quality standards in a variety of settings. For more information on these courses/lectures please visit our Education and Meeting section here.
We have a team ready to work with commissioning groups and providers to set up the necessary infrastructure to deliver the QIPP agenda and reduce dependency on secondary care. Locally we have reduce hospital admissions by 19% in the last 12 months. For this project the team won this years prestigious HSJ awards in the acute and primary care innovation category.
The group also delivers a clinical COPD service in a mixed commissioning and research economy from primary to tertiary care under the name Southampton COPD Community Partnerships. We perfom bespoke community screening programmes and primary care database reviews within Southampton City and West Hampshire.
The main aim of the group and this site is to help you deliver a confident diagnosis of COPD, make the discrimination between COPD and asthma, and manage stable and acute disease. |
